The Macedonian Government, by signing the Millennium Declaration at the 2000 Millennium Summit, has committed its leadership to supporting the attainment of national MDGs for Macedonia

To initiate an inclusive and consultative process, as a first step Macedonia needs to define and set its national priorities. In nationalizing the MDGs, government representatives, civil society actors and policy makers need to reach consensus and mutually set long term development objectives.

To facilitate the dialogue between the various MDG partners, the United Nations will stand side by side with Macedonia. It will assist in sharpening the discussion and in compiling Macedonia's first MDG Report, which will map out a path to 2015. That report will be available in print in December 2004.
