Clear goals and targets to work more focused and coordinated

Laid down in the Millennium Declaration and signed by 189 member states, it is anticipated that the setting of clear goals and targets will help individuals, groups, nations and international organizations to work together in a more focused and coordinated way.

The year 2015 is the year in which UN member states have committed to reaching their MDG goals. To make sure countries are progressing and are on the right path progress is measured on a regular basis, principally through MDG reports which countries are required to prepare on a regular basis.
